'Freedom Together' is a two-piece illustration I created for a travelling exhibit to bring awareness and raise funds for Alzheimer's research. Using butterflies as symbolism for freedom, the first illustration places an aged hand reaching for a butterfly just out of reach. In the second illustration, a younger-looking hand has also come alongside the aged hand to join in the effort to grasp freedom, with the silhouette of the two hands creating, within themselves, a bird/butterfly symbol to represent the freedom not achieved, but created through caring support and advocacy.
